Scenes from the Yorkshire Dales

A couple of images from my recent trip to the Yorkshire Dales. Spent 2 weeks in UK back in April and had driven up for a weekend in the Peak District and the Dales.

Plopped ourselves at the West Winds tea room bed and breakfast inn. Charming little place that served some of the best cakes, pastries and jams that we had during the trip.

This little bird feeder kept me and the camera busy for 15 mins.

The sheep here seem pretty bold and actually came up to us. Quite unlike the ones we encountered in New Zealand who wanted nothing to do with humans. Wish I could upload all the bah-ing that was going on, it was a surreal chorus of almost human-like calls. Sheep are strange creatures.

An unforgettable breakfast at the West Winds. The plum jam (or "ploom" jam as the Yorkshire accent says it) you see in the background was made by the innkeeper and it was just out of this world. Try as I may, I couldn't procure any to bring back... sigh.

A hearty English breakfast. We must have lingered over the breakfast table for almost an hour and a half

More pics to come, when I get my lazy ass around to putting them up.

Mmmmm. Looks absolutely delicious. Not to mention sinful.

I look at the photos and wondered, "Now, did I even see this part of the scenery?". Great to see the photos - I want to see them ALL!

My favourite was that of the sheep... until I saw the great pic of the toast. Thanks for making me hungry at midnight! :(
